Shawn Withers holds a 4th degree Black Belt in Broken Wing Kenpo® and a second degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kenpo. He also holds a Black Belt in O-Ki-Tao and has earned the rank of Canemaster from Grandmaster Mark Shuey. Mr. Withers, a stroke survivor, has extensive experience working with disabled students making him a pioneer in the field of teaching martial arts to the physically challenged. He is certified in The CR.I.T.I.C.A.L. Approach®. He is a member of the Internation CaneMasters Association and AMOK!
Mr. Withers is a 2005, 2009 and a 2010 inductee into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame as well as a 2007 inductee into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame and a 2010 inductee into the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame. He is co-author of the book, Broken Wing, an autobiography published in January, 2008. In 2009, he received a Doctors of Philosophy in the study of Martial Arts (Ph.D.) from the University of Asian Martial Arts Studies. Mr. Withers holds a degree in Business Administration from Husson College. In 2009 he was also awarded the rank of Sifu in Taiji-Chi Kung from Master Chris Keith. |
